Philippines: Typhoon Odette hits Visayas and Mindanao with rains and strong winds.
Cebu and other locations were experiencing strong winds making some materials float in the air. Some roofs are flying away, and other low areas are experiencing a flood.
The Pagasa (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) informed that internationally known 'Rai', a strong tropical storm, had entered the area of responsibility (PAR) of the Philippines which is called Odette.
Yesterday, the 15th of December, 2021, Odette got additional strength and became a typhoon.
The international weather --- monitors --- raised 'Odette' to Category 5 which is the highest level. Today, the 16th of December, the landfall of the typhoon was made.
Near the typhoon's band, there will be heavy rains and moderate ones, forecasted by Pagasa. TWCS (tropical cyclone wind signal) #3 was raised in some locations of Visayas and Mindanao.
At 8 in the evening, Odette went weak as the maximum sustained winds of 185 kph (kilometers per hour). It was spotted weakened (lastly) over Pres. Carlos P. Garcia town's coastal waters (Bohol).
