Rappler reporter, Pia Ranada, is not allowed to enter the President's compound after being tagged as illegitimate in reporting and presenting news.
The commission said that the rappler has violated a constitutional restriction on foreign belongings and control of mass media establishments after receiving an amount of money from a foreign investment firm. Rappler still continue to operate after the ruling.

"We can't allow anyone into the president's compound especially a person who insists on disrespecting the palace by reporting fake news", said Presidential spokesman Harry Roque Jr.
Rappler is known for its critical reporting of Mr Rodrigo Duterte’s presidency, and media watchers called the act an attempt to restrain the press. Presidential spokesman Harry Roque Jr debated that it was not, mentioning that Ms Ranada can create a report by viewing news conferences on TV.
